Guntaas is a born and bred Vancouverite. She holds BA Honours from Carleton University in Political Science & International Relations. Guntaas completed her M.A. in Conflict Resolution in 2011 from the University of Bradford where she focused on the elements of international conflict as well as mediation techniques. In 2011, Guntaas was the first Sikh-Punjabi-Canadian to participate in the Minorities Rights’ Fellowship at the UN High Commission for Human Rights in Geneva, Switzerland, a 6-week intensive training program focused on the rights of global minority communities in the international arena. In 2015 she received her Graduate LL.B. from the University of Exeter. Guntaas was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2019.

Guntaas was trained and has practiced in Criminal and Civil Litigation, Personal Injury and Family Law. She has also taken a keen interest in employment and workplace human rights matters. Guntaas always strives to approach her clients and their legal matters with understanding, compassion, and practical advice.

When not in the office, Guntaas is an avid reader and tries to get outdoors as much as she can. She is often found volunteering in her community or spending time with family and friends, especially her niece and nephews.
